With most of the country world descending on Nashville this week in advance of last night’s CMA Awards, there were plenty of pre-awards show events where country fans could see country stars.
One such event: the BBR/BMG CMA Awards Pre Party, where the label’s big stars like Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Jason Aldean, and Dustin Lynch sat on stage, chatted and played a little music with and for each other.
At one point during the evening, Aldean described the very first time he met Jelly Roll.
“The first time I met Jelly…he came to one of my shows, and I walked in, and this guy came up, and I was like, ‘Who in the f*ck is this guy?’ I was like, ‘I don’t know who this guy is, but I want him on my side during a bar fight.’ Ended up being we’re label mates.”
