Jimmie Allen announced that he is leaving Nashville after 16 years of living there.
Allen posted on social media a short note expressing his gratitude for the memories he made in the city and that it is time to move on, but he will be back to visit.
When one fan asked if he was switching genres and “pulling a Taylor Swift move,” Allen clarified that he is still staying true to his country music roots but is just moving to Florida for warmer weather and a beach.
Allen writes in his tweet, “Dear Nashville, I came to you in 2007 chasing this music dream. Thank you for the memories we made over the years. It’s time to move on now but I’ll be back to visit for sure. Take Care.”
