Last week Cody Johnson took the stage at the Grand Ole Opry before a stop on his Leather Tour at Bridgestone Arena.
Cody started his performance off by singing two of his own songs, “The Painter” and “Dirt Cheap.”
But then later in the show he brought his two daughters on stage, 8-year old Carla Mae and 5-year old Cori.
Cody said that he and his wife are cautious of what their daughters see on TV so they end up watching a lot of westerns.
And because of that Cody joked that his daughters think “John Wayne hung the moon.”
So when Cody asked his daughters if they wanted to join him for a song on the Opry stage, the song they chose was “My Rifle, My Pony and Me” from the 1959 John Wayne western “Rio Bravo.”
