Morgan Wallen’s “This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen” opens THIS WEEKEND! (Memorial Day weekend)

“This Bar” is in the heart of Nashville on Broadway, and features food Morgan Wallen grew up on and all things East Tennessee.

While construction and promoting the bar has went awesome for Wallen… the Nashville Metro Council has halted the progression.

Wallen designed a sign to put on the outside of his bar with his name on it… and obviously the name of the bar and kitchen.

In Nashville, whenever a sign is visible to the public, like from the sidewalk, the Metro Council must vote for its approval.

Nashville Metro Council voted 30-3 to NOT let Morgan Wallen put his sign up because his name is on the sign.

Below are some quotes from council members from Taste of Country’s website:

  • He gives all of us a bad name,” says Metro Council member Jordan Huffman. “His comments are hateful, his actions are harmful and he don’t belong in this town as far as I’m concerned. I’m tired of this city bending over to just make anybody happy that makes a comment that they want to. We continue to go down this road.”

  • I don’t want to see a billboard up with the name of a person who’s throwing chairs off of balconies and who is saying racial slurs,” at-large Council member Delishia Porterfield states (quote via the Tennessean).

What are your thoughts?
