Darius Rucker has been arrested in Middle Tennessee for drug related charges on Thursday. (2/1/23)
Darius was taken to the Williamson County Jail and charged with one count of violation of Tennessee’s vehicle registration law and two counts of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance.
In the arrest affidavit, the Franklin Tennessee police state they originally pulled Darius over because his registration tags were expired, but when they got to the car they immediately smelled marijuana which led to them searching his car.
The Franklin TN police officers searched and patted down Darius and found some things.
The officers found a blunt, THC pen, and 14 unmarked pills that Darius claims were given to him by a romantic partner.
Darius was released after being pulled over because the officers wanted to send the mystery pills off for testing.
The pills were later identified as Psilocyn, which is a magic-mushroom-like controlled substance.
So once the results came in for the pills, the police issued a warrant for Darius’s arrest in December and he now has turned himself in.
He was booked at 12:15 PM central time on 2-1-24 and was released 2 hours later on bond for $10,500.
