It’s a tradition in country music that, at the end of a tour, the openers and the headliner exchange gifts.
Hardy and Lainey Wilson observed that tradition at the end of their “Mockingbird and the Crow” tour, in which Lainey opened for Hardy.
In a video Hardy posted to Tik Tok, Lainey led off the exchange with a gift in a guitar case.
She explains the gift: “Probably about 8 months ago, you texted me and said, you said something about, like we played a radio show together, and you were like, ‘What’s the name of that guitar’?” she recalls Hardy asking.
She shows Hardy her gift: the very same guitar Hardy had been enamored with months before, but emblazoned with his name and the name of the tour, “Mockingbird and the Crow.”
Hardy is obviously blown away, saying, “Gimme a hug…that’s gonna make me cry, dude.”
And as for what Hardy got Lainey, it was a getaway to Tennessee’s Blackberry Farm; “We’re gonna put her up at Blackberry Farm for a few days.”
@laineywilson @HARDY we will talk about this tour the rest of our lives. Loved burning up with the road with you, friend. 🔥🤘🏼 #mockingbirdandthecrowtour #ontheroad #livemusic
