Almost a week after the CMA Awards, people are still wondering about Wynonna‘s peculiar performance with Jelly Roll at the start of the awards show.
While she sounded great, the Internet was pondering why the country legend was clutching on to Jelly’s arm the entire time – with some wondering if her vertigo had returned.
Wy herself took to social media to dispel any rumors that she was feeling anything but a severe bout of nerves – and still the Internet kept forming its own opinions.
At this point, Jelly Roll entered the chat.
Appearing on his wife BunnieXO‘s podcast, Jelly addressed the issue head on.
Out of the gate he praised Wynonna the person, saying she’s “always had a heart for the broken,” and adding that in order to perform alongside him, “she had to move mountains to do that.
She learned that song on short notice…did hours of practice…didn’t miss a note.
“How are y’all gonna overlook the fact that yeah, she might have been holding on to me, but she was blowin’ to the heavens, the woman was singing from the absolute pit of her soul!”
He added, “She’s totally fine. For anybody that was worried about anything deeper, Wynonna is sharp as a razor.”
So take it from Jelly Roll; Wynonna’s just fine.
