The Lightening Rod rollercoaster at Dollywood is closing for the winter after Dollywood’s Harvest Festival on October 30th.
Dollywood Park officials posted a video on social media saying the reason for its closing is to replace its launch system with a high-speed chain lift.
Park officials also says even though the ride is getting an update it will not affect the ride experience in any way.
Lightening Rod officially opened in 2016, hits a high speed of 73 MPH, and features a 165-foot drop.
Don’t worry because Lightening Rod will be up and running for the Spring 2024!
