Jake Owen is grieving over the loss of his sweet English bulldog, Merle, who has been his best friend and companion on the road for many years.
On Instagram Owen posted photos of Merle with the song “Natural High” by Merle Haggard playing over them.
On Owen’s post of Merle, he reflected on the time they shared together, saying “Love ya Merle. You were my dawg.”
Merle was apparently a fixture on Owen’s tour bus, even though he was “slept through most of it.” In addition to Merle, Owen is also a “dog dad” to Axe, a German Shepherd.
