A teacher who adopted her former student and his younger brother is celebrating being totally debt-free! Chelsey Haley met her son Jerome while working for Teach for America in Baton Rouge, LA in 2015 and noticed his struggles at home and in school. She took action to help him and his brother Jace by wiping out her savings to pay for attorney’s fees to get custody of her sons. She racked up more than $48,000 in credit cards and student loans with interest, but she’s paid it all of now and is the process of saving for a house!
