LaShenda Williams has faced some serious hardship in her life which led her to live in her car for the past year outside of the Kroger in the Nashville area. Back in December of 2019, she met Jackie Vandal who’s the hiring manager for the grocery chain. Vandal told Williams she should fill out an application online and even helped her do it. She was so impressed with he woman’s qualifications and experience that she gave her a job! Williams is now able to afford a one-bedroom apartment with furniture supplied by her co-workers, plus help from the community.
