Using a period in a text or to end a conversation is a red flag for Gen Z and millennial kids because it sends a message of hostility and lack of trust. The younger generation will use punctuation marks to set the tone of the conversation in hopes of the receiver interpreting it as it was intended. Sending texts without a period at the end is the new normal but now they are being used in-between words to emphasize something important or exciting.
