Conservation biologist Nail Jordan from The University of New South Wales in Australia discovered that cattle herds in the Okavango delta region in Botswana are constantly being attacked by predators. To help combat this issue, he had farmers paint eyes on cow’s butts to trick ambush predators into thinking they have been spotted, Jordan called this the “Eye-Cow Project.” Research has proven that the eyes have been effective and deterred large mammalian predators.
