  • WHAT’S AWESOME: Georgia Bar Owner Pulls Over $3,000 From Her Walls To Give To Her Unemployed Staff

The Sand Bar is a well known bar in Tybee Island, Georgia. People who visit the bar staple dollar bills to the walls and have been doing this for years!

When the bar had to close due to COVID-19 Jennifer Knox, the bar owner, had an idea. For 3 and a half days, volunteers worked to take the bills down off the walls. All of the bills added up to $3,714!

In a Facebook post, Knox had this to say…
“The Sand Bar is going to have a fresh new look, while giving back at the same time! We are taking down the dollar bills!! And donating all of the money to our bartenders, and musicians that need it.”

When customers heard what Knox was doing, they wanted to pitch in so they started donating money to the cause. Raising the total to $4,104.

Each bartender and musician received $600
